Just come back from our school production of Oliver! I must say that I was very impressed with some of our girls singing abilities, in particular Fagin and Nancy, both whom sang in opposition to the corus at one point and I could still hear every word.
There were also some songs in it that I hadn’t heard before, probaly comes from doing a stupidly abridged version when I was at school. I might have to get hold of the soundtrack so I can hear them again.
Though one thing it has made me realise is that I really should read the book, though apparently the ending is even sadder. Then again Dickens is not exactly renound for his cheerful writing!
